** * * * * * * * * 'Fluffy Pants is now called Louis whilst Billy remains Billy. The lads have been with us for 3 weeks today and to celebrate and recognise their good behaviour we let them out into the garden for the first time. We counted two out and I'm pleased to say two back in. The first night was quite a traumatic experience for the lads as they put their escape plan into action. We think that Billy may have been the brains and Louis the muscle, sadly for them the reinforcements stopped any thoughts of freedom. The damage was minimal but the clues clearly pointed to a tunnel under the kitchen cupboards, which was reached by sliding down a two inch gap at the side of a full height built in fridge. Once this failed they used the top of the bin and its spring loaded lid to crash through a window, an imprint of Louis face could clearly be seen smudged across the window. Over the next couple days their character started to show and it was quite obvious the two of them, albeit very close with one another, were different. Louis is a very friendly lad who very quickly learnt that keeping in Honors good books was the key to food, a lap, a brush and cuddles. Whenever friends visit you can be sure he'll be looking for some attention. Meanwhile Billy found sanctuary under the sofa daring to come out for something to eat when the coast was clear. A few days later he decided the back of the sofa offered more comfort and a chance for Honor and I to stroke him and feed him the odd treat. Slowly but surely he's coming on really well and he's current favourite places are under the bed and on the landing where the hot pipes run. Between 7 and 9pm he changes his personality and decides to be sociable. We are sure that he'll integrate totally within a couple of months. We are so pleased to be able to offer them a home and hope that we'll have a lot of fun together for years to come. ' |
