You can contact us to adopt an animal in several ways.
We will require your name and contact details and also the name or type of animal you are looking to adopt. We also need a brief description of your home, for example, 'Do you have other animals, do you have children, is there access to a garden, do you work in the day etc.?'
After this initial introduction, one of our representatives will arrange a homevisit. (This is not an interrogation, simply our chance for a free cup of tea & a biscuit; milk, no sugar please!)
If you live out of our immediate area and we are unable to visit your home, then we will require a Veterinary Reference. If this is not possible, then a detailed discussion over the telephone, followed by a visit to us in the Richmond area, would be required before adoption can proceed.
We don't wish to make this a difficult process for anybody. It is really very straightforward and we just want to find the ideal home for our animals and the ideal companion for you.
After your assessment has been completed and confirmed, then we will arrange for you to visit the animal/s in their foster home. If you decide that you would like to go ahead with the adoption then you will be asked to complete and sign an adoption form. We also ask for a minimum 'fixed' donation (please contact us to find out more information on this).
